Geri Halliwell has decided to discard her marital surname in a video promoting the fashion brand Christian Dior, following controversy surrounding her husband Christian Horner’s conduct several months ago.
Complaints made against Red Bull team principal Christian Horner by a female employee at Red Bull were dismissed in February.
After being exonerated of any wrongdoing, Horner – who consistently refuted the accusations against him – continued his duties.
The female employee, who was suspended from her position, appealed the ruling to clear Horner with the Formula One team’s parent company Red Bull GmbH.
The former Spice Girl introduces herself in the brief clip by saying, “‘C’est moi Geri, Geri Halliwell,” which translates to “It’s me, Geri, Geri Halliwell”.
The 51-year-old songstress then delves into the Dior In Scotland exhibit at Drummond Castle in Perthshire, admiring their 2025 Cruise collection, which draws inspiration from Mary, Queen of Scots.
Reflecting on the situation in March, Horner expressed that the investigation had been a “very challenging period” for him and his family, including his spouse.
He stated: “My wife has exhibited extraordinary support throughout this time, as has my family, but the intrusion on my family has reached a point, and it is time to progress and concentrate on our purpose.”
Halliwell has refrained from addressing the scandal publicly.
Halliwell tied the knot with the F1 executive in 2015 in an extravagant ceremony at Woburn Abbey, attended by celebrities like Emma Bunton, Amanda Holden, Myleene Klass, Jennifer Saunders, and Dawn French.
Horner and Halliwell are parents to a seven-year-old son named Monty. Halliwell also has an eighteen-year-old daughter named Bluebell with screenwriter Sacha Gervasi.
Sky News has reached out to a spokesperson for Halliwell for a statement regarding the change in her name.
