South Yorkshire Police have reported that three men have been arrested as murder investigation is launched. South Yorkshire Police have said “Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a Barnsley man. Police were called to High Street, Thurnscoe, at around 12.24am on Sunday 24 September following reports that a man had been found unconscious after being assaulted near the Butchers Arms pub. The man was initially taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital before he was transferred to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Man from Adwick-Le-Street, Doncaster jailed for raping teenage girls he met on Tinder. South Yorkshire Police have reported a dangerous sex offender who raped and strangled two teenage girls he had met on dating app Tinder has been jailed for 17 years. Christopher Hartley, 22, took both girls to isolated locations and, in separate incidents, used violence to gain power and control over them. SOUTH YORKSHIRE POLICE APPEAL: E-fit released after Doncaster exposure South Yorkshire Police have released an e-fit image of a man they would like to identify as part of an ongoing investigation into a report of outraging public decency. A police officer will appear in court tomorrow (Wednesday 4 October) charged with non-recent child sexual offences. PC Gary Scott, 50, has been charged with three counts of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 14 years and bailed to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court. The offences are alleged to have occurred between 2001 and 2003. Scott was not working in policing at the time of the alleged offending. Scott, who worked on a response team in Rotherham, was arrested in September last year following a report to the force’s Professional Standards Department. He was suspended from duties…

Fireball erupts over the Oxford skyline last night as lightening strikes around 7:20pm. Severn Trent waste plant explodes after lightning strikes a gas container, sending a fireball into the sky and cutting off power to over 1,000 homes. It comes after thunderstorms swept over the area this evening, with a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office covering much of the southeast. The incident took place in Hucklow Road, Firth  Park, Sheffield on March 24, 2023 At Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on September 29, the dogs’ owner – Carly Louise Mason, 30, of Worsborough Common, Barnsley – was ordered to pay £600 in compensation, banned from keeping dogs for the next five years, and sentenced to 26 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months. A Doncaster man who raped a woman after targeting her at a party has been jailed for 12 years. Darrell Crookes, 56, of Belvedere Drive, waited until the victim – who is entitled to lifelong anonymity – had fallen asleep after the gathering in 2021 to launch his attack. The terrified victim woke to Crookes repeatedly saying, “I am going to pull your pants off” before he raped her.
