An individual who tragically lost his life after his vehicle veered off a motorway embankment during a police chase has been identified.
Declan Connell, a 27-year-old, was operating a white Vauxhall Corsa heading south on the M9 when the incident occurred between junctions 8 and 9 in the Stirling vicinity at approximately 11.50am on Sunday.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, Mr. Connell, hailing from Falkirk, was declared deceased at the scene.
The family of the deceased has requested privacy during this difficult time.
Two young male passengers, aged 19 and 20, who were in the vehicle were transported to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for examination.
According to police authorities in Scotland, the car was engaged in a pursuit before the tragic crash.
The details surrounding the accident have been handed over to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC).
The road was completely reopened by 2.40pm on Monday.
