Amid the ongoing search for missing teenager Jay Slater, his mother, Debbie Duncan, has shared an update through a fundraising campaign that has raised £35,000 to aid in the search efforts.
Debbie Duncan, in her post on the GoFundMe page titled “Get Jay Slater home,” expressed gratitude for the support received and mentioned plans to utilize the funds for essential purposes.
Utilization of Funds
The raised funds are intended to cover accommodation and food expenses for the family while they are actively involved in the search mission in Tenerife, where Jay was last seen.
Debbie Duncan also mentioned intentions to bring additional individuals to Tenerife to provide mutual support during this challenging period.
“We are in the process of coordinating with GoFundMe to access a portion of the funds, which are securely held,” she conveyed.
Supporting Rescue Teams
In her statement, Debbie Duncan highlighted that the funds will be directed towards supporting the diligent efforts of the mountain rescue teams tirelessly searching for Jay.
She further explained, “Given the prolonged stay required in Tenerife, the funds will also be utilized to meet accommodation and food expenses for the extended duration.”
“In this trying time, surrounded by unwavering support, we aim to bring together loved ones by allocating a portion of the funds to facilitate their travel to Tenerife,” she added.
