A doorbell cameraĀ has captured the moment police officers tasered and subdued a sword-wielding man in Hainault, northeast London.
The attacker, 36, stabbed five people in the Thurlow Gardens area including a 14-year-old boy who died shortly after in hospital.
Footage from just before 6.13am showed the man, wearing a yellow hoodie and waving a weapon as officers walked towards him.
The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in hospital.
The incident is not terror-related nor is there believed to be an ongoing threat to the wider community, police officials said.
Detectives have been unable to interview him as he was injured when his van collided with a building.
Footage showed a man wielding a large sword in the middle of the neighbourhood before stabbing the victims, including two officers.
Meanwhile King Charles has asked to be ākept fully informedā about the incident.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: āFollowing the horrific scenes in Hainault this morning, The King has asked to be kept fully informed as details of the incident become clearer.ā
Witnesses described the moment they saw a man armed with a huge sword walking from house to house after crashing his van into a building.

Manpreet Singh, manager of Redbridge Radio Cars, was at work in the taxi firmās office at Hainault Tube station when the attack happened.
Mr Singh told Metro: āI saw about six or seven people going in and out of Franklyn Gardens and people coming up to the train station saying there was a guy with a machete.
āIt looked like there was one man who had stabbed someone and the other people in the street were bystanders on their way to work who had tried to fight him off.
āA guy walked up the road who had been stabbed in his neck. He was saying āIāve been stabbed, Iāve been stabbedā and walking towards the police.ā
He continued: āBecause of the size of the weapon it looked like they tried to intervene but not been able to fight him off.
āWhen we came out the police cars were there and the guy came running from Franklyn Gardens towards Thurlow Gardens. He tried to get into a house but there was a dog there.
āHe tried to get into another house but the police got him under control by tasering him.ā
Prime minister Rishi Sunak said the Hainault stabbings were āshockingā.
Speaking at the Society of Editors conference in central London, he said: āIād like to give my thanks to the emergency teams that are responding and to pay tribute to their bravery.ā
