Jessica Alba has ended her marriage with film producer Cash Warren after 16 years.
The Fantastic Four star announced the separation in an Instagram update, revealing to her 20.6 million followers that she has been on a “path of self-discovery”.
She emphasized that their three children would continue to be a priority as they “venture into a new phase of development and transformation as individuals”.
Alba wed the film producer in 2008 after they connected on the set of the superhero film Fantastic Four.
The American actress remarked, “I’ve embarked on a journey of self-discovery and transformation for several years – both individually and alongside Cash.”
“I take pride in how we’ve evolved as a couple throughout our 20 years of marriage, and now it is time for us to enter a new stage of growth and development as individuals.”
“We are progressing with love, kindness, and respect for each other and will always remain a family.”
Alba concluded her message by affirming that their three children – Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and Hayes, seven – “continue to be our top priority”.
‘I really, really like you’
Alba first encountered Warren in 2004 when she portrayed the invisible superhero Susan Storm in Fantastic Four, while he served as an assistant to director Tim Story.
She previously recounted that Warren slipped her a note on the set, adorned with a dollar sign to align with his name, stating: “I really, really like you.”
The duo eloped while Alba was nine months pregnant with their first child, Honor Marie, as she disclosed to Glamour magazine in 2022.
They then welcomed their second daughter, Haven Garner, in 2011 and son Hayes in 2017.
‘New pursuits’
Alba began her acting career with leading roles in Nickelodeon’s series The Secret World Of Alex Mack, along with the reboot of the 1960s television series Flipper.
At 19, she received a Golden Globe nomination for her breakout part as Max Guevara in James Cameron’s show Dark Angel.
She later starred in the successful film Honey, portraying an aspiring dancer-choreographer, as well as in the action-crime thriller Sin City, alongside Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke.
Alba has also established herself as a businesswoman, co-founding the ethical consumer goods brand The Honest Company in 2012.
Last year, she stepped back from her role as chief creative officer but continues to retain a position on the board, mentioning her focus on “new pursuits”.
