A narcotics dealer was apprehended when authorities observed him taking photos while adorned with three Rolex timepieces.
Michael Babalola, hailing from Lewisham in south London, posed with bundles of cash and luxury watches, which enabled law enforcement to establish evidence of his drug sales.
The 24-year-old was taken into custody in May of the previous year following a police search of his brother Olusegen’s residence in Peterborough.
Authorities unearthed over £7,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine concealed within a tissue box.
Additionally, they confiscated weighing scales and mobile devices, including one specifically used for transactions.
While Olusegen was charged and detained, no compelling evidence directly connected Michael to the narcotics found in the apartment.
However, law enforcement uncovered indications of large-scale cannabis distribution and possession of illicit funds, which included cash and Rolex timepieces, MyLondon reports.
Police have made public the incriminating selfies found, showcasing him grinning with currency notes and flaunting three watches on his wrist.
Michael, from South Road in Lewisham, was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison at Peterborough Crown Court.
He admitted guilt regarding charges of involvement in the distribution of cannabis and possession of illicit property.
