A driver has tragically lost their life and a child is currently in critical condition following a collision involving three vehicles in Wales.
The severe accident occurred on the A483 close to Welshpool in Powys, Wales, on Saturday evening.
A red BMW X3, a blue Audi S4, and a white Toyota Yaris collided on the roadway at approximately 6:15 PM.
The red BMW and blue Audi were proceeding northbound while the Toyota was heading in the opposite direction, as reported by Dyfed-Powys Police.
The police stated: ‘Regrettably, the driver of the white Toyota Yaris succumbed to their injuries at the scene. A child passenger from the same vehicle was airlifted to a hospital due to severe injuries.
‘The coroner and next of kin have been notified. Specially trained officers are providing assistance to the family.’
In connection with the fatal incident, two men have been apprehended.
One male, aged 29, was detained on suspicion of causing death through dangerous driving and drug-driving offenses.
Another male, aged 33, was also detained on suspicion of causing death via dangerous driving.
The road was closed overnight for a collision investigation but reopened on Sunday morning.
