A homicide investigation has been initiated regarding the passing of an individual who was tragically assaulted while walking alone in South Lanarkshire.
David Graham, aged 38, was attacked in General’s Gate, Uddingston, at approximately 7:35 pm on Sunday.
Mr. Graham, who resided in Cambuslang, was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but was declared deceased upon arrival.
Authorities are eager to locate a silver vehicle that was observed parked near the scene of the incident before it departed.
Detective Chief Inspector Graham McCreadie stated: “Our condolences go out to Mr. Graham’s family and friends during this incredibly challenging period.
“A specialized team of officers is diligently working to provide them with answers and to identify those accountable.
“We have already interviewed several individuals who rendered assistance to Mr. Graham until the ambulance arrived, and I would like to express my gratitude to them for their support.
“Nevertheless, I still wish to speak with anyone else who may have been present in the vicinity at the time and could have witnessed or overheard anything unusual.”
Drivers with dashcams who were traveling in the General’s Gate or Old Glasgow Road areas on Sunday evening are encouraged to review their recordings for any information that could assist the investigation.
An online portal has been established to enable the public to submit information directly to the investigative team.
