Doncaster, 21/08/24—Adwick Park Rangers Junior Football Club (APRJFC) is thrilled to announce week two of its free football camp, introducing an exhilarating new way for girls to engage in the sport. Today, participants can experience football like never before, playing on 3v3 Airpitches designed to deliver “Fast, Feet, Fun” in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
The Airpitches, used for the first time at APRJFC, provide a unique and fast-paced setting where girls of all abilities can enhance their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game. These inflatable pitches create a soft, safe, and fun atmosphere that encourages active participation and teamwork.
A Game-Changing Experience: The introduction of 3v3 Airpitches represents a significant step forward in APRJFC’s commitment to making football accessible and enjoyable for every girl in Doncaster. By focusing on small-sided games, the Airpitches ensure that every player gets maximum involvement, with plenty of touches on the ball, fostering rapid skill development in a fun and supportive setting.
Collaboration with GWL UNITED: APRJFC’s partnership with GWL UNITED, Yorkshire’s leading female-centric football provider, is central to this initiative. Together, they are dedicated to providing diverse and exciting opportunities for girls to engage with football in various formats. From traditional matches to fast-paced 3v3 games, this collaboration is about allowing girls to explore the sport in ways that suit their interests and abilities.
A Day of Firsts: Today marked the first time Doncaster’s girls played on the Airpitches, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. The energy on the pitch was electric as the girls embraced this new format, showcasing their skills and enjoying the game without the pressure of competition. This free football camp, taking place for the remainder of this week, is designed to be inclusive, welcoming girls from across the region to join in the fun.
Commitment to Future Opportunities: Mike of APRJFC emphasized the club’s ongoing commitment to creating engaging and innovative football experiences for girls:
“We are incredibly proud to be the first in the region to use 3v3 Airpitches. This initiative is part of our mission to inspire and empower girls through football. By working closely with GWL UNITED, we’re ensuring that girls in Doncaster have access to various football formats that prioritize enjoyment, personal development, and community spirit.”
John Caven, Director at GWL UNITED, added:
“The Airpitches have brought a new level of excitement to the game. It’s fantastic to see the girls so engaged and having fun. This is exactly what football should be about—enjoyment, participation, and growth. We look forward to continuing our partnership with APRJFC to bring more of these opportunities to girls across the region.”
Join the Fun: The football camp is open to girls aged 8-12 from the communities of Adwick Le Street, Woodlands, Toll Bar, Bentley, Highfields, Skellow, and Carcroft. With limited spaces available, parents and guardians are encouraged to register their daughters immediately to ensure they don’t miss out on this unique experience.
