George Clooney Urges Joe Biden to Withdraw from Presidential Race for Democrats’ Sake
In a bold move, renowned actor George Clooney has appealed to Joe Biden to step aside from seeking re-election for the White House, asserting that Biden is not the same formidable figure he once was.
Clooney, a staunch member of the Democratic Party, penned a guest editorial in the prestigious New York Times shortly after attending a fundraising event with President Biden.
During the event, concerns arose about the president’s well-being when his predecessor, Barack Obama, assisted him off the stage.
In his written piece, Clooney highlighted, “I have great respect for Joe Biden. The senator, the previous vice president, and the president. He is someone I admire and trust.”
“I trust in his integrity, in his principles. Over the past few years, he has emerged victorious in numerous challenges he has confronted.
“However, the battle against time is one he cannot prevail against. None of us can.”
Speculation has intensified regarding Mr. Biden’s re-election campaign following a turbulent debate performance against Donald Trump last month.
In a scathing critique, Clooney further expressed, “It’s painful to acknowledge it, but the Joe Biden I encountered at the fundraiser three weeks ago was not the same influential Joe Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even comparable to the Joe Biden of 2020. He resembled the individual we all witnessed during the debate.”
“Was he fatigued? Perhaps. Suffering from a cold? Possible. Nevertheless, our party leaders must cease telling us that the noticeable decline in his performance went unnoticed by 51 million viewers.
“We are all too petrified of the prospect of a second Trump term that we have chosen to disregard every red flag. The George Stephanopoulos interview only reinforced what we witnessed the previous week.
“As Democrats, we collectively hold our breath or lower the volume whenever we witness the president, whom we admire, disembark Air Force One or return to a podium to field an impromptu question.”
The 81-year-old president has resisted all calls to step aside, even from within his own party, affirming his unwavering commitment to remain in the race and beseeching his Democratic counterparts to move past the controversy.
Nonetheless, Clooney asserted, “This concerns age, nothing more. Yet, it is also irrevocable.
“We cannot secure victory in November with this incumbent.”
He went on to state that following the debate, “the floodgates have opened.”
“We can either remain in denial and hope for a miracle in November, or we can confront the reality.”
He acknowledged### Changing Presidential Nominee Sparks Controversy
Changing the candidate so close to the November election was deemed as a “disorganized” decision, yet it was argued that it could “revitalize our party and re-engage voters who had lost interest long before the June debate.”
