Heartfelt tributes are being shared for the “intelligent and incredibly delightful” TV doctor Michael Mosley, with his spouse expressing that he was a “fantastic, humorous, caring, and brilliant spouse.”
Mosley was last sighted on Wednesday when he took a solitary stroll from Saint Nikolas Beach in the heart of the Greek island of Symi, but tragically went missing, leading to a search operation.
His remains were discovered on Sunday by a filming crew, in close proximity to a network of caves beside Agia Marina, approximately 10 meters from the shoreline.
Mrs. Clare Mosley found solace in the fact that “he came so incredibly close” as heartfelt tributes came flooding in for the doctor famed for promoting the 5:2 diet and advocating for public health.
‘An Incredibly Sweet, Compassionate, and Mild-mannered Gentleman’
Mosley’s co-host on Trust Me, I’m A Doctor, Dr. Saleyha Ahsan, hailed him as “a national treasure,” while the BBC, where he was a respected figure, expressed that his absence would be deeply felt.
Dr. Ahsan shared with Sky News: “He possessed the ability to captivate. It wasn’t solely due to his celebrity status; it was because of the trust he garnered.
“He lived and breathed his calling. He was a source of inspiration. It’s difficult for me to even say ‘was’ – he continues to be an inspiration.”
On the other hand, the BBC’s chief content officer, Charlotte Moore, mentioned: “His entertaining and comprehensible approach was enjoyed by viewers globally, and his passing will be mourned by numerous individuals, particularly those who had the privilege of working with him at the BBC.”
Mosley frequently appeared on Morning Live and The One Show, and contributed to programs such as Medical Mavericks, Eat Fast Live Longer, Inside Michael Mosley, The Young Ones, and Trust Me, I’m a Doctor.
