A British couple currently in custody in Iran has been identified by their relatives as Craig and Lindsay Foreman.
The family expressed that they are “deeply troubled” by the “alarming circumstances”.
In a statement, the family remarked: “We wish to take this moment to convey our concerns regarding the troubling circumstances involving Craig and Lindsay Foreman, who are presently detained in Kerman, Iran.”
“This unforeseen development has sparked considerable anxiety for our entire family, and our main focus is on guaranteeing their safety and well-being throughout this challenging period.”
“We are actively communicating with the British government and appropriate agencies, striving to address the complexities of this situation. The family stands united in our resolve to secure their safe return.”
“We sincerely value the generous support from friends, family, and the community, which has given us strength and encouragement as we navigate through this crisis.”
They further expressed: “Thank you for your patience, empathy, and ongoing assistance.”

A representative from the Foreign Office previously stated: “We are offering consular support to two British citizens held in Iran and are in communication with the local authorities.”
Iranian state media reported on Wednesday that a male and female were being held in Iran’s southeastern city of Kerman on charges related to security.
The Foreign Office cautions that individuals face risks of “arrest, detention, and capital punishment” when traveling to Iran.
In the past, Iran has detained British citizens for lengthy terms.
Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Anoosheh Ashoori, both holders of dual British-Iranian nationality, were released in March 2022 after enduring years of captivity in Iran.
