Kristensen made his move to Leeds in the summer of 2022, transitioning from Red Bull Salzburg for an estimated fee of £8.34m.
This transfer brought him back together with his former Salzburg manager, Jesse Marsch, but both struggled to win over the fans at Elland Road.
Marsch was dismissed prior to the conclusion of Kristensen’s inaugural season, and the Danish international has not featured for the Whites in almost two years.

Previous reports have hinted that the Bundesliga club is eager to keep the 27-year-old, who has been a consistent presence for the team this season.
As per The Athletic, they are aiming to finalize a permanent arrangement before the summer transfer window opens.

Meanwhile, Leeds are believed to expect a revival of discussions in the summer after a resolution was not achieved in January.
Kristensen was not the sole player to leave Elland Road after the club’s relegation to the Championship, as numerous others sought new opportunities.
Although many have since secured permanent transfers away from West Yorkshire, Kristensen and Everton loanee Jack Harrison are still under contract.
