A woman has tragically passed away after her vehicle collided with a London bus in East London.
Emergency responders were dispatched to Lea Bridge Road in Hackney just prior to 7am today.
Though the woman driving the vehicle was transported to the hospital, she unfortunately passed away shortly thereafter.
The Metropolitan Police stated: ‘Authorities were notified at approximately 06:50hrs on Saturday, 8 February regarding reports of a vehicle in collision with a bus in Lea Bridge Road, near the intersection of Clapton Road, E5.’
‘Officers, the London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.’
‘The driver of the vehicle, a woman, was taken to the hospital for care – she tragically passed away shortly after.’
‘There have been no reports of additional injuries.’
‘Road closures are in effect. Investigations into the circumstances are ongoing.’
