Dedicated fans of Oasis have asserted that Ticketmaster has annulled their tickets for the band’s upcoming reunion tour, alleging that bots were utilized in their purchases.
Following Liam and Noel Gallagher‘s announcement of a limited series of stadium performances last summer, numerous fans logged on to Ticketmaster, eager to witness the band live for the first time since 2009.
However, the ticket sales organization is presently under scrutiny due to their implementation of dynamic pricing—a pricing model that has seen the cost of a standard ticket escalate from £148 to £355.
A number of fans have reported that they received notifications from Ticketmaster indicating that their ticket purchases had been cancelled due to the detection of bots.
Leighah Conroy, 24, had secured four tickets to see Oasis perform at Heaton Park in Manchester on 28 August last year but was informed on Friday that Ticketmaster “detected bots used in this transaction.”
She expressed to the PA news agency: “To claim that we are bots is completely unacceptable from Ticketmaster since we spent all day trying to secure tickets.”
“Our minds have been quite overwhelmed over the past 24 hours. I felt nauseous. This is a band you will never have the chance to see again, and it has been on my bucket list for years.”
“It feels as though my aspirations have been utterly shattered.”
Ms. Conroy, from Cumbria, invested approximately £150 per ticket and additionally spent £800 on lodging and £40 for transportation to the concert.
Marta Bonnet, 48, from Spain, also indicated that she received the same communication on Friday. She reported spending over £3,000 on tickets, flights, and accommodation for her, her husband, and her children to witness Oasis at Wembley Stadium on 3 August.
“At the start, we thought this notification was deceptive or merely a spam email, but it turned out to be genuine,” she remarked.
“We typically rely on Ticketmaster for our ticket purchases… But now, how can I have faith in this platform that is intended to be the official site?”
“I truly cannot comprehend what has transpired.”
A spokesperson from Ticketmaster stated: “Individuals who have been reached and believe that a refund was issued mistakenly have received a form to complete for the tour’s promoters to examine.”
