A British individual has allegedly passed away after being carried out to sea in Tenerife.
The 63-year-old visitor was among three individuals who encountered difficulties at the Los Gigantes natural swimming pool situated on the western shore of the Spanish island, as reported by The Sun.
The other two individuals, both female, successfully returned to safety, the article notes.
A local Civil Guard officer reportedly stated that all three were in the pool, commonly referred to as Crab Island natural swimming pool, when a wave “swept them into the ocean”.
The officer further remarked: “An autopsy will determine how the British individual met their end, whether it was due to drowning or possibly a head injury.”

A representative from a regional government-operated emergency response coordination center reportedly commented: “Emergency services engaged in the rescue efforts for three individuals who had encountered difficulties in the waters of Tenerife.
“This incident occurred near the Crab Island natural pool within the municipality of Santiago del Teide.
“The alarm was raised shortly before noon yesterday, when we were informed that three individuals had been swept into the sea by a wave.”
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office conveyed: “We are providing support to the family of a British man who has tragically died in Spain and are in communication with the local authorities.”
