Sting has been obliged to cancel multiple upcoming engagements due to illness, including two concert dates and an awards function where he was to be honored with a lifetime achievement award.
The 73-year-old ex-Police vocalist has had to reschedule shows in California and Arizona, which are now planned for later this month (January 2025), while his appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards has also been called off.
In a statement disseminated via social media, the artist’s management disclosed: “Following the advice of his physician, due to illness, it is with great regret that Sting must cancel his participation in the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday.
“Additionally, he has to postpone his STING 3.0 concerts in Phoenix, AZ (originally set for January 24) to June 1 and Wheatland, CA (initially planned for January 26) to May 28, as well as his performance at the Cherrytree Music Company’s 20th anniversary, now rescheduled for May 29.”
Attendees who already possess tickets are encouraged to retain them, as they will be honored for the rescheduled dates. There is no information yet on whether these postponed tour dates will affect the UK segment of his Sting 3.0 World Tour, which is slated to commence on June 18, 2025, at the Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire.
While Sting is also on the lineup for the LA FireAid concert later this month, his attendance hinges on his recovery progress.
