Authorities have identified a deceased individual discovered in a residence in Ipswich as William McNicholl.
A homicide inquiry has commenced following the revelation of the 63-year-old’s remains at a location on Hawthorn Drive.
Suffolk Police reported that officers were summoned to the residence shortly before 6 PM on Wednesday.
Initial findings from a post-mortem examination conducted by the Home Office on Saturday suggested the cause of death was due to “multiple injuries”.
Mr. McNicholl, who was affectionately known as Billy, hailed from Ipswich.
The major investigation team of the force is spearheading the murder investigation, and a heightened police presence in the vicinity “will persist as inquiries are ongoing”.
Law enforcement has requested that anyone with information or who observed any suspicious behavior near the location between December 24 and January 1 reach out to the police.
