Urfan Sharif, who was sentenced to prison last month for the murder of his 10-year-old daughter, Sara Sharif, has faced an assault at Belmarsh Prison.
It has been reported that he sustained cuts to his face and body, which necessitated stitches.
He received treatment within the prison facility.
A representative from the Prison Service informed Sky News: “Authorities are looking into an attack on a detainee at HMP Belmarsh that occurred on 1 January.”
“It would be inappropriate to comment further as the investigation is ongoing.”
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated that officers are examining “a report of an assault on a detainee at Belmarsh”, noting that “the 43-year-old sustained injuries that are not life-threatening”.

‘The system failed Sara,’ states expert
Sharif and Sara‘s stepmother, Beinash Batool, were sentenced to life imprisonment in December for years of appalling “torture” and “abhorrent” maltreatment that led to the tragic murder of the 10-year-old.
The court was informed that she endured “unimaginable agony, suffering, and distress” as she was subjected to repeated beatings, burnings, bite injuries, and restraint in their household located in Woking, Surrey.
Sharif received a minimum sentence of 40 years while Batool was given 33 years.
Sara’s uncle, Faisal Malik, 29, was sentenced to 16 years for his culpability in causing or allowing her death.
During a televised sentencing session at the Old Bailey, Mr. Justice Cavanagh remarked that Sara’s demise “was the result of years of neglect, persistent assaults, and what can only be characterised as torture”, primarily at the hands of Sharif.
The senior judge stated that her “deplorable treatment” occurred “openly and in the presence of the remaining family members”.
He addressed Sharif: “You treated her in such a manner because you believed it was your entitlement to enforce draconian discipline upon her.
“Sara was a courageous, spirited, and lively child. She was not the submissive figure you intended her to be. She stood up to you.”
