A young male has tragically passed away following an incident involving a high-end vehicle he was operating, which veered off the road and overturned.
The deadly accident occurred in the village of Gaydon, Warwickshire, during the early hours of Saturday.
The alarm was raised around 2:15am after receiving reports of a Porsche Macan involved in a crash on Banbury Road, with no other vehicles reported to be involved.
The driver, a male adolescent in his late teens, was said to have been driving ‘at high speed’ prior to losing control of the vehicle, resulting in fatal outcomes.
He succumbed to his severe injuries at the scene, while the passenger in the Porsche reportedly did not sustain ‘any significant injuries,’ according to law enforcement.
The police stated: ‘The driver, a male adolescent in his late teens, was travelling along the road at high speed before departing the roadway and overturning the automobile.’
A 27-year-old male from Temple Herdewyke village has since been detained on suspicion of offences related to use, cause, or permit under the Road Traffic Act, as confirmed by Warwickshire Police.
The police further remarked that ‘some footage of this incident may have been circulated on social media.’
‘Considering the distressing nature of any footage relating to this event and its potential impact on the families and friends of those involved, we kindly ask that you refrain from sharing this footage online and instead send it directly to us using the reporting tools available,’ they stated.
Investigators are seeking any witnesses to the incident or individuals possessing dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV recordings from between 2am and 2:30am to reach out to Warwickshire Police and the investigating officer, PC 1001 Pearson.
At the time of the incident, weather conditions in the vicinity were believed to be mostly clear with some passing clouds, and temperatures ranged between 6°C and 7°C.
