Julian, the son of John Lennon, has recently undergone emergency surgery following a cancer diagnosis.
The musician and photographer shared that he had a seven-hour procedure after noticing a mole on his arm.
The 61-year-old encouraged his followers on social media to “please make sure to get checked by your physician”.
In a statement on X, Julian Lennon elaborated on how his dermatologist advised that he “needed surgery immediately” due to concerns over skin issues on his shoulder and forearm, one of which was identified as melanoma.
He noted that the doctor, whom he referred to as “Dr. Tess”, had “saved his life” during a previous scare with cancer in 2020.
He had gone for a regular check-up in Los Angeles before heading to New York for a series of engagements – but shortly after he arrived, he received a message urging him to return “with urgency”.
He recounted: “Thus, rather than returning home to set up my Christmas tree and enjoy a peaceful conclusion to the year, I flew straight back to Los Angeles after finishing my activities in New York, heading directly from LAX to surgery, with a surgeon endorsed by Dr. Tess.”
“The procedure was successful, yet we still await the biopsy results, which may not arrive before Christmas.”

He stated: “Firstly, I’m extremely grateful to Dr. Tess and Dr. Tim for arranging this surgery on such short notice, and for potentially saving my life once more…
“One should never underestimate circumstances like these, but we all have faith that Dr. Tim has indeed succeeded… So, for now, fingers crossed.”
He expressed: “Receiving good news would undoubtedly be the best Christmas gift ever, which I’m optimistic about…
“However, I want to emphasize that this serves as a timely reminder to everyone to please get yourselves evaluated by your physician… It only takes a moment, and you might end up saving your own life in the process… so for your own sake, as well as for your family and friends, please see your doctor and follow through with what needs to be done…
“I cherish life, and I wish to live for an extended period; this is one choice that could influence your future…
“Wishing everyone joyous holidays and a long, healthy life… Much love to all.”
In February 2020, Lennon disclosed that he had a mole removed from his head, which had been a part of him throughout his life, after a biopsy indicated it had become cancerous.
Lennon served as the inspiration for three Beatles classics: Hey Jude, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, and Good Night.
He is most recognized for the track Too Late For Goodbyes.
