Tributes have been paid to a ‘lovely and beautiful’ five-year-old boy who was found deceased at home as a woman is apprehended on murder charges.
Lincoln Button was located by police at his residence in South Ockendon, Essex, on Sunday following reports of a ‘critical incident.’
He was pronounced dead, while a woman was transported to a medical facility and has since been arrested on murder allegations.
Lincoln’s devastated family has shared their condolences, honoring him by stating: ‘Link was a beloved, cherished, sweet, beautiful young soul who was adored by everyone and will be profoundly missed each day.’
Bonnygate Primary School, where Lincoln was a first-grade student, characterized him as a ‘playful, cheerful, happy boy.’
They further stated: ‘His enthusiasm for school, joy, and hugs will be profoundly cherished and missed.
‘The school is actively collaborating with the authorities and receiving guidance from the educational team at Thurrock Council, which provides the necessary support and advice to schools dealing with delicate matters.
‘The school’s primary focus is to offer assistance to those within the community who need help coping with this devastating loss.’
Detective Chief Inspector Alan Blakesley, who is at the helm of the Essex Police investigation, remarked: ‘This is an exceptionally delicate and complex inquiry which we are managing with the care, empathy, and professionalism that Lincoln’s family – and the broader public – rightfully expect.
‘Our team is diligently working around the clock to ensure that we fully comprehend the circumstances leading to Lincoln’s death on Sunday.
‘We are leaving no stone unturned in our quest for answers.’
