A woman has tragically lost her life in an automobile accident in Bootle, Liverpool. Witnesses reported that she was struck after completing her Christmas shopping.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene of a collision involving a Ford Focus and a 72-year-old woman around 7:45 PM last night in Merseyside.
She was transported to the hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries.
A couple who witnessed the heartbreaking event on Brewster Street recounted to the Liverpool Echo that ‘bags and Christmas gifts’ were scattered across the roadway.
They shared with the Liverpool Echo: ‘The young woman was lying on the ground, and we pulled over to assist her.’
Authorities confirmed that the operator of the Ford Focus involved in the accident remained on site.
Chief Inspector Andy Foster stated: ‘We are calling for anyone who observed the incident to come forward.
‘We also encourage any drivers who might possess dashcam recordings to reach out.
‘The family of the woman has been notified and is receiving support from officers.’
Any additional witnesses or individuals with CCTV footage of the incident are likewise urged to contact the police.
Earlier this week, another woman, aged 25, was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle.
In what is reported as a hit-and-run incident, two cars collided in South London on Sunday morning, resulting in one car being overturned with a severely damaged roof.
The operator of the other automobile fled the scene.
