Two individuals were transported to the hospital following a gas explosion at a terraced home in east London.
Videos circulating on social media captured the moment of the explosion on a residential street in Ilford, resulting in a fire that severely damaged the roof, both floors, and the loft conversion of the property.
The residence had been transformed into apartments, as noted by the London Fire Brigade.
Approximately 60 firefighters were dispatched to combat the blaze on Ley Street, with two individuals being rescued from a first-floor window using a ladder. They were conveyed to the hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
Two adjacent properties are currently under assessment by a dangerous structures engineer, the London Fire Brigade reported.
Emergency responders received the initial calls concerning the fire at 4:09 PM, bringing it under control by 6:23 PM. Fire crews will continue to monitor the site throughout the evening.

Station commander Darren McTernan remarked, “Ley Street remains closed between Eastern Avenue and Vicarage Road, affecting traffic in the surrounding area, so please continue to avoid the vicinity if possible.”
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service stated, “We dispatched resources including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic practitioner, an incident response officer, and members of our hazardous area response team.
“We treated three individuals. Two were transported to the hospital, and a third was released at the scene,” they added.
The London Fire Brigade stated that the origin of the explosion is currently under investigation.
