A 42-year-old individual has passed away after being assaulted by a dog in eastern London, authorities reported.
Law enforcement officials were dispatched to Shirley Road in Stratford at 4:53 am on Wednesday subsequent to reports indicating that the man had incurred severe injuries.
The victim was transported to the hospital; however, medical personnel were unable to stabilize him, and he ultimately succumbed to his wounds. His relatives have been notified, and a post-mortem examination is scheduled to occur.
Leanne McDonnell, aged 32, has been charged with possessing a dog deemed dangerously uncontrolled and causing injury that resulted in death.
Additionally, she faces accusations of neglecting her responsibilities as a caretaker for the animal in ensuring its well-being and of having custody of a fighting dog.
McDonnell has also been charged with three counts of owning a dog that was dangerously uncontrolled without causing any injuries, linked to an earlier incident on November 18.
She has been placed in custody and is set to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, according to the Metropolitan Police.
The dog implicated in these occurrences has been confiscated by law enforcement.
