The Leicester City academy graduate was released by Luton Town at the conclusion of the previous season.
He is set to potentially make his debut for Harrogate against Salford City on Tuesday after demonstrating his fitness during training with the Sulphurites.
“He has been training with us for the past two weeks and brings competition for positions at the forefront of our attack. He has impressed us with his physicality during training, and we are eager to see his performance on the pitch,” stated Lloyd Kerry, Harrogate’s head of recruitment.
“He adds another layer to our squad; he possesses a strong background and has experience in both League One and the Championship, making it fantastic to have him with us.”
Muskwe did not make any senior appearances for Leicester, only featuring for their youth teams in the Football League Trophy. However, loan spells at Swindon Town — where he played a key role in their promotion from League Two — and Championship side Wycombe Wanderers prompted Luton to acquire him for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2021.
He recorded merely eight league starts for the Hatters but continued with additional loans at Fleetwood Town and Exeter City, both competing in League One.
Now aged 26, his most recent senior appearance was representing his national team in a World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in November 2023.
“I am thrilled to be here and am pleased to finalize this deal,” he expressed.
“As a player, it’s crucial to join a team filled with confidence; there’s healthy competition for spots here, and everyone motivates each other daily to improve.”
“I aspire to contribute as much as possible, assist the team in achieving victories, and hopefully delight the fans; I’m eager to get back out on the field.”
Muskwe has represented England at both the under-16 and under-17 levels, and his cousin Kuda was on loan at Wetherby Road in 2016.
Last month, Harrogate secured Eno Nto on a month-to-month contract following his impressive trial performance after previously being with Derby County.
