The Princess of Wales’s moving Christmas letter has come to light, as she highlights the significance of love during ‘our most challenging moments’.
She expressed a heartfelt Christmas message regarding the value of love at her annual carol service held in Westminster.
This comes as Kate steps back into public engagements after her recovery from cancer, with the service intended to provide a moment of contemplation about cherishing loved ones in trying times.
In her letter, Kate states: ‘The Christmas narrative urges us to empathize with the experiences and emotions of others.
‘It also mirrors our own frailties and serves as a reminder of the necessity of offering and receiving compassion, as well as recognizing our inherent need for one another despite our disparities.
‘Above all, it invites us to embrace love rather than fear. The love we extend to ourselves and the love we emit towards others.
‘Love that listens with compassion, love that is gentle and understanding, love that is forgiving, and love that instills joy and hope.
‘This love is the most precious gift we can receive. Not just during Christmas, but throughout our everyday lives. Love acts as a beacon that can illuminate even our darkest hours.’
About 1,600 guests have been extended invitations to the service, which includes members of the royal family and survivors of the Southport stabbings.
Olympic cycling champion Sir Chris Hoy, who is battling terminal prostate cancer, will light a candle alongside Lindsey Burrow, the wife of former Rugby League player Rob Burrow, who passed away in June after a highly publicized struggle with motor neurone disease.
Kate is anticipated to be accompanied by her family, including her husband William and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The King and Queen did not participate in the Together at Christmas carol service in 2023 but have attended in earlier years.
Readings related to the themes of love and empathy are set to be delivered by the Prince of Wales and a range of notable figures, including actors Richard E Grant, Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery, Oscar-nominee Sophie Okonedo for her performance in Hotel Rwanda, and Olympic swimming champion Adam Peaty.
