A fortunate ticket bearer in the UK has just secured the third-largest National Lottery jackpot in history.
One individual has triumphantly won the EuroMillions jackpot during Tuesday evening’s draw, taking home a staggering £177 million.
The search is now underway for the individual who purchased that incredibly fortunate ticket so they may claim their substantial prize.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners Advisor at Allwyn, expressed: ‘What an astonishing night it has been for a single UK ticket holder who has won tonight’s astonishing £177 million EuroMillions jackpot.
‘This victory has earned them a place on The National Lottery’s Rich List, making them the third highest National Lottery winner ever.
‘What a splendid win right before Christmas, and we eagerly anticipate distributing this remarkable prize.
‘Players are encouraged to examine their tickets and to contact us if they believe they might be tonight’s fortunate winner.’
The winning combinations were 07, 11, 25, 31, 40 and 35, accompanied by Lucky Stars 09, 12.
Just a few days ago, a mystery winner claimed an impressive £2.6 million Lotto jackpot, nearly two weeks after the winning numbers were initially published.
In that scenario, two ticket holders shared the £5.2 million jackpot, with the first claimant coming forward promptly – and who would blame them?
Most lottery victories result in transformative sums of money – as recounted by previous winners – but it’s not always a seamless experience, as some fortunate winners may experience issues after claiming their winnings.
The latest winner will now hold greater wealth than former One Direction member Harry Styles and heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, both valued at £175 million, according to the most recent Sunday Times Rich List.
On July 19, 2022, an anonymous UK ticket holder won the record EuroMillions jackpot of £195 million – the largest National Lottery victory to date.
This evening’s victor ranks just behind Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester, who won a then-record £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket in the draw held on May 10, 2022.
