Authorities executed a controlled detonation at a central bus terminal in Glasgow after a “potentially dubious item” was discovered.
Additionally, three individuals were apprehended in relation to the incident at Buchanan Bus Station on Wednesday.
Police Scotland issued a statement saying: “At approximately 1:10pm today, we received notification about a potentially suspicious object at the bus station.
“Our officers reached out to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), which led to the execution of a controlled explosion. No hazardous items were discovered.”
The travel hub, recognized as Scotland’s most frequented bus station, was evacuated as a “precautionary measure” during the situation.
Furthermore, the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, situated directly across from the bus station, also annulled a performance.
This venue was scheduled to host an event featuring legends from the Glasgow-based football team, Celtic.
“Regrettably, due to circumstances outside of our control, tonight’s event has been canceled,” announced the venue on X.
“All ticket holders will be reached out to in a timely manner. We sincerely apologize for any disruption this may cause.”

Three individuals were detained in connection with the possession of offensive weapons, and investigations are ongoing, added Police Scotland.
Officers are actively engaged in restoring normalcy to the area.
Passengers intending to utilize the bus station have been advised to check with service operators regarding the impact on operations.
