Three individuals were hospitalized after a vehicle veered onto the sidewalk in front of a restaurant in central London.
A bystander, reportedly injured in the melee, was taken to the hospital along with the driver of the vehicle and a passenger.
A black vehicle mounted the pavement at Piccadilly Circus, close to the Angus Steakhouse establishment, shortly before 7 PM this evening.
Images showcased a significant police presence and the car’s deformed front end, with shattered glass scattered around.
The Metropolitan Police released a statement stating: ‘Officers received a call at approximately 18:50 hours on Tuesday, November 12, regarding a collision involving a vehicle on Coventry Street, at the junction with Haymarket, SW1.
‘Reports from witnesses indicated that a car mounted the pavement before striking a building. Two individuals – a pedestrian and a passenger from the car – were taken to the hospital for medical attention.’
The driver sustained minor injuries but was also transported to the hospital, according to the police.
Tourists in the vicinity seemed to be capturing photos of the scene, which was heavily policed.
Instantly, social media users began to make light of the situation.
