Kamala Harris has gained ground on Donald Trump in a survey conducted in Iowa, a region that Trump convincingly secured in both 2016 and 2020.
The vice president enjoys a three-point advantage in this Midwestern state, according to a Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll that surveyed 808 likely voters.
“The survey indicates that women – particularly those who are older or identify as politically independent – are propelling the recent movement toward Harris,” stated the poll.

The poll reveals Ms. Harris leading Mr. Trump by 47% to 44%.
This poll carries a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points and follows a previous Iowa Poll from September, which had Mr. Trump ahead by four points, as reported by the newspaper.
Winning Iowa would grant the victor six Electoral College votes, with a total of 270 required to ascend to the presidency.
Both candidates vying for the US presidency have been focusing their efforts on crucial battleground states such as North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin in an attempt to take the lead in this closely contested race for the White House.
Early balloting is already in progress ahead of the election scheduled for Tuesday.
Addressing a gathering in North Carolina, Mr. Trump proclaimed: “If we win this state, weβre going to win the entire game.”
“Weβve conquered every assault, every setback, and even two attempts on my life,” he continued. “And now it all boils down to this.”
