Two felines trapped within a burning apartment perished after a blaze erupted in London today.
Around 60 firefighters responded to the fire on Amber Way, Hammersmith, this evening following a fiery scene that triggered numerous emergency calls.
In total, 20 emergency calls were made, with the first occurring at approximately 5:48 PM on Sunday.
The blaze ravaged a three-room apartment on the fifth floor of a seven-story structure before firefighters managed to contain it.
While no injuries to people have been reported, two cats trapped inside did not survive.
London Fire Brigade stated: ‘A total of eight fire engines and approximately 60 firefighters were dispatched to the incident at a block of flats on Amber Way in Hammersmith.’
‘The fire inflicted extensive damage to part of a three-room flat on the fifth floor in the seven-story building.’
‘This was a highly visible fire that prompted 20 emergency calls to our Control Centre concerning the incident.’
‘Regrettably, two cats lost their lives at the scene. Fortunately, no additional injuries have been documented.’
‘The first report of the fire was received at 5:48 PM, and firefighting efforts were successful in bringing it under control by 6:43 PM.’
‘Fire crews from Acton, Chiswick, Kensington, North Kensington, Paddington, Ealing, and Chelsea fire stations responded to the emergency.’
‘The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.’
