A toddler aged two, an eight-year-old girl, and a woman believed to be in her thirties are currently hospitalized following a stabbing incident at a location in east London.
A male suspect, who was also hospitalized after the occurrence, has been detained on allegations of attempted murder.
This evening witnessed a substantial emergency response due to reports of an incident on First Avenue in Dagenham, which occurred around 5:35 PM.
Over 10 police vehicles were visible at the site, alongside an air ambulance that had landed in the vicinity.
Emergency services discovered one woman and two children at the location, who were subsequently transported to the hospital.
The injuries sustained by the eight-year-old are confirmed to be non-life-threatening, according to later reports from the Metropolitan Police.
Officials are still awaiting further information regarding the condition of the woman and the two-year-old boy.
The man involved was treated at the hospital after experiencing a medical issue, as stated by the Met; however, he has since been released into police custody.
A crime scene has been established on the street in Dagenham, with a heightened police presence anticipated over the next few days.
Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford, who oversees law enforcement in Barking and Dagenham, remarked: ‘This is an incredibly shocking incident, and I appreciate the local residents for their support and understanding as we manage this situation.
‘At this preliminary stage, we suspect that the individuals involved were acquainted with one another, and we are not actively searching for any additional suspects related to this case.
‘A crime scene will remain in effect for an extended period while our officers perform essential investigations, and residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area in the days ahead.’
