Sean “Diddy” Combs faces allegations of raping a woman purportedly as retaliation for her expressing doubts about his involvement in the assassination of rapper Tupac Shakur, according to a recent lawsuit.
The legal filing, submitted in California, represents the latest civil action against Combs, who is currently detained in New York while he awaits a criminal trial concerning allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering.

The plaintiff is seeking damages from the music magnate, alongside four men and two women, for claims encompassing sexual assault, battery, rape, sexual misconduct, false imprisonment, and kidnapping, and has requested a jury trial.
Combs, also referred to as P Diddy, has yet to issue a response to this legal action but has rejected all accusations of sexual assault leveled against him.
He has previously denied any connection to the murder of Shakur, who was fatally shot in a drive-by incident in Las Vegas in 1996.
According to the lawsuit, the woman asserts that Combs raped her using a remote control and claims that witnesses, who were his associates, also participated in the sexual abuse. Additionally, she alleges he threatened her with a “Glasgow smile” – a cut across her face with a knife – and warned that he could inflict harm on her and her family should she speak out.
The plaintiff asserts that she initially encountered one of Combs’ associates at a bar in February 2018. In the lawsuit, she contends that the individual made a video call to Combs to show her, but she expressed that she “was not impressed” as she suspected “he had involvement in the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur”.
The court documents indicate that she heard Combs claim she would “pay” for her remarks and her disapproval of him.
She recounts being at the associate’s residence in Orinda, California, the following month when Combs arrived unexpectedly.
According to the lawsuit, he reiterated that she would “pay” and approached her wielding a knife. He allegedly held the weapon to the right side of her face “and threatened to inflict a ‘Glasgow smile’ in response to her earlier comments during the video call”, the document states.
The plaintiff maintains that her clothing was forcibly removed and that Combs covered her with a substance she recognized as oil or lubricant before using a television remote to “brutally” rape her.

The claims against P Diddy
P Diddy’s mother issues a statement regarding allegations
Combs is accused of telling the woman that “her life was in his hands and that if he wished, he could ‘take her’ and she would vanish without a trace,” adding that he “owned her now”.
She alleges that she was raped by Combs and others “until she ultimately lost all control over her body and movement,” as stated in the lawsuit. The rapper is said to have recorded portions of these events.
The woman reports that she eventually escaped to seek help and that Combs attempted to pay her off, suggesting she claim to be a sex worker and that their encounter was consensual.
She alleges she reported her experience to a local sheriff, but her complaint was “dismissed”.
This claim in California was filed one day following the submission of six lawsuits against Combs in New York, with further lawsuits anticipated in the forthcoming weeks.
In an official statement, representatives for Combs conveyed that the rapper and his legal team “are entirely confident in the facts, their legal positions, and the integrity of the judicial system”.
They added: “In court, the truth shall emerge: that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone – be they adult or minor, male or female.”
Following the announcement of pending lawsuits on October 1, one of his attorneys stated they could not “respond to every unfounded allegation in what has evolved into a sensational media frenzy”.
Combs, 54, was once a prominent producer in the hip-hop industry and is also recognized as a rapper, known for hits like Bad Boy For Life and I’ll Be Missing You.
After his arrest in September, he pleaded not guilty to three felony charges accusing him of exploiting his vast business empire, including the record label Bad Boy Entertainment, to transport both male and female sex workers across state lines for recorded sexual acts termed “freak offs”.
His trial for these criminal charges is scheduled for May 2025.
The murder of Tupac remained unresolved for over twenty years, yet the case has been reexamined in recent years.
In September 2023, former gang affiliate Duane “Keffe D” Davis was indicted for the murder, with his trial set to commence in March 2025.
