A defendant has made an appearance in court facing charges of murdering a man in West Lothian.
Gary Nicol was discovered with severe injuries on Bankton Lane, Livingston, at approximately 2am on Thursday, 26 September.
Emergency responders were dispatched, but the 50-year-old was declared deceased at the location near Williamston Primary School.
After conducting a post-mortem examination, Police Scotland continued to categorize the death as “unexplained.”
A murder investigation was subsequently initiated following additional inquiries conducted by a team of specialized officers.
Connor Manners, aged 25, was apprehended last week as part of the investigation and appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday.
Manners, a resident of Livingston, did not enter a plea to the single charge of murder and was remanded in custody.
