Scottish DJ and music producer Jackmaster has tragically passed away at the age of 38 after sustaining a head injury, as reported by his family.
The artist, whose birth name was Jack Revill, succumbed in Ibiza early Saturday morning due to complications stemming from the accidental injury, according to a statement shared on his Instagram account.
“It is with deep grief that we announce the premature departure of Jack Revill, affectionately known to many as Jackmaster,” his family articulated, expressing their “utter heartbreak”.
“While incredibly touched by the abundant support from friends, colleagues, and supporters, the family respectfully asks for privacy as they endure the profound sorrow of this heartbreaking loss,” they added.
The DJ, hailing from Glasgow and a co-founder of the record label Numbers, recently unveiled the single Nitro, featuring Kid Enigma.
In an interview with Electronic Groove music magazine, he stated: “It was all about feeling exhilarated and inspired within the club.”
“Unfortunately, such experiences are becoming increasingly infrequent. I attribute that to smartphones and individuals who refrain from dancing.”
“I am immensely thankful for my supporters, yet I ventured into music due to my passion for dancing. I believe that it is a diminishing artform these days,” he expressed.
