Carol Vorderman has announced her departure from her Sunday LBC radio program after experiencing “burnout” due to a grueling seven-day workweek.
The former Countdown personality revealed that she had a “health scare” a fortnight ago, which resulted in an overnight hospital stay.
In a message shared on social media, Vorderman mentioned that she had traveled to London but felt “very unwell” and “completely drained,” along with a “tight sensation” in her chest.
She explained that she had gone to the hospital, where various scans and assessments were conducted, ultimately revealing no significant health problems.
Heeding the advice of her family and friends, the broadcaster expressed that she was interpreting this health scare as a “warning sign to ease up a bit,” declaring her intention to “scale back my work to weekdays for the time being.”
“I feel quite frustrated by this, but I have concluded that I can no longer continue my Sunday show on LBC, which is a decision I find extremely difficult, but I couldn’t envision any other option,” she conveyed in an Instagram video.
At 63 years old, she remarked that her experience on the program had been “a complete delight” and that she was “very sorrowful” about stepping away.
Vanessa Feltz will take over hosting duties for the Sunday afternoon show.
A statement from LBC read: “We fully support Carol’s choice.
“Her health is paramount, and everyone here at LBC sends their warmest regards.
“Carol’s program has been a staple Sunday listen, and while many will miss her, we eagerly anticipate her return to LBC, albeit intermittently, soon.”

Vorderman joined LBC to host her new Sunday program, airing from 4pm to 7pm, in January of this year.
This followed her departure from the BBC radio show two months earlier, where she stated that she was “not willing to sacrifice my voice” after the organization implemented new social media policies.
Vorderman has been vocal in her criticism of the former Conservative government and has had several confrontations on social media with Tory MPs—though she recently condemned the current Labour government for reducing winter fuel payments for millions of elderly citizens.
She shared that BBC management determined she had to relinquish her Saturday morning show on BBC Radio Wales due to a violation of the new guidelines.
