Hollywood star Olivia Munn and comedian John Mulaney have welcomed their daughter through a surrogacy process.
The X-Men actress shared images of their baby, Mei, on Instagram, announcing her birth date as September 14.
Munn, aged 44, expressed: “Mei June Mulaney entered this world on September 14, 2024, during the year of the dragon.”
“I experienced intense feelings regarding my inability to carry my daughter. Upon meeting our gestational surrogate for the first time, we connected as mothers.”
“Her kindness and empathy reassured me that I had found a genuine angel in human form.”
“I cannot articulate the depth of my appreciation for her dedication in keeping our baby safe throughout those nine months, which has allowed our dreams to come to life.”
She continued: “I take immense pride in my little plum, my little dragon, for having made the journey to unite with us. My heart has swelled with joy. Mei (pronounced may) translates to plum in Chinese.”
Mulaney, aged 42, a comedian and writer known for his work on Saturday Night Live, shared on social media: “I adore my little girl so much” – while humorously adding “we took a lot of stuff from the hospital.”
The couple already has a son named Malcolm, who is nearly three years old.
In March, Munn disclosed that she underwent four surgeries, including a double mastectomy, to combat an aggressive form of breast cancer.
She mentioned that early detection of the illness was crucial to saving her life.

Munn recently disclosed on Instagram that she underwent a partial hysterectomy and oophorectomy (the surgical removal of one or both ovaries).
She also began treatment with the breast cancer medication Arimidex in August.
Earlier this year, Munn informed Vogue that she froze her eggs after receiving her diagnosis, allowing the couple the opportunity to conceive another child.
She rose to fame through television series such as The Daily Show and The Newsroom, as well as starring in X-Men: Apocalypse.
