An elderly gentleman who suffers from dementia and may be ‘unable to articulate his name’ has been unaccounted for for nearly a week.
Hassim Bayrak, hailing from Wembley, situated in north-west London, was seen last on Monday along Wembley Hill Road, a bustling thoroughfare located near Wembley Stadium.
Hassim was on the thoroughfare, which is serviced by buses that head to Edgware Station, at approximately 1pm.
The 69-year-old was dressed in a ‘vivid blue sweater and dark blue trousers’ at the time of his disappearance.
He has not been located since. Authorities state he ‘may not be able to give his name’—individuals with dementia often encounter difficulties in verbal communication.
While the police noted his age as 69, an appeal from the charity Missing People states he was 68 ‘at the time of his disappearance’.
‘Hassim, we are here for you whenever you feel ready; we can listen, guide you through the assistance you require, relay a message on your behalf, and support your safety,’ the appeal emphasizes.
