The indecent assault allegations in the UK against the disgraced Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein have been dropped.
“The CPS has an obligation to continually review all cases and we have concluded that there is no longer a viable chance of a conviction,” stated Frank Ferguson, director of the Crown Prosecution Service’s Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division.
“We have communicated our rationale to all involved parties.
“We always encourage potential victims of sexual assault to step forward and report incidents to law enforcement, and we will pursue prosecution wherever our legal criteria are satisfied.”
