Tributes Pour In for Sheffield Teen Killed in A1 Crash
Sheffield is mourning the loss of a beloved 16-year-old, Isaac Nockels, who tragically died following a car crash on the A1. Isaac, a Hillsborough resident and Reverend Suzanne Nockles’s son, was a passenger in a Peugeot 107 when the accident occurred on Saturday, August 24, around 4:30 p.m. The crash happened near junction 14 of the southbound carriageway at Alconbury Hill, Cambridgeshire, leading to several hours of road closure.
Isaac was rushed to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries the following day. His mother, Reverend Suzanne Nockles of Sheffield, who was reportedly driving the car, suffered minor injuries.
The other vehicle’s driver, a 26-year-old man from South Yorkshire, was behind the wheel of a white Ford Transit 350 Leader minibus. He was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and has since been released on bail. Seven people in the minibus were treated for minor injuries.
Walkden Congregational Church expressed deep condolences on Facebook, offering support to Isaac’s family. “Our deepest sympathies to Rev Suzanne Nockles on the tragic death of her son Isaac following a car crash in which Suzanne was injured. We hold the family in our prayers,” the church posted.
