Several Oreo products have been pulled from UK shelves after it was discovered that they may contain peanuts, which poses a serious risk to those with allergies.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an urgent recall of various Oreo flavours. The agency cites the presence of peanuts—a “life-threatening” ingredient for individuals with peanut allergies—that were not disclosed on the product labels. The affected products originated from Indonesia and are sold under the Whatever Brands label in the UK.
The FSA warned in a statement: “Whatever Brands is recalling several Oreo products because they may contain peanuts, which are not mentioned on the label. This poses a potential health risk for anyone with a peanut allergy.”
Affected Products and Dates:
– Oreo Dark & White Chocolate: Best before dates: March 14, 2025, March 15, 2025, March 20, 2025, and March 23, 2025
– Oreo Strawberry Cream: Best before date: March 15, 2025
– Oreo Blueberry Ice Cream: Best before date: November 1, 2024
– Oreo Cream Chocolate Cookie: Best before date: September 15, 2024

Customers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and to contact Whatever Brands’ careline team for further guidance. The company can be reached by phone at 0207 117 2970 or by email at hey@whateverbrands.com.
In a notice to consumers, Whatever Brands stated: “Affected stocks are labelled with Whatever Brands Limited stickers. No other Oreo products are impacted. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation.”
This recall serves as a crucial reminder for consumers to check food labels carefully, especially for allergens, as even popular brands can sometimes miss vital information.
