Notting Hill Carnival is taking place this weekend. The lively London street celebration began yesterday and continues until tomorrow, August 26.
As expected, however, some travel disruptions will affect those heading to the carnival, residents of the area, and Londoners trying to navigate from one location to another nearby.

London Underground during Notting Hill Carnival
During carnival days, the London Underground is expected to be exceptionally crowded.
Prepare for hectic conditions at smaller tube stations on August 25 and August 26—so, if possible, consider alternative routes while navigating the area.
Transport for London (TfL) recommends: ‘To ensure the smoothest and least congested trip to Notting Hill Carnival, patrons should consider taking the London Underground or Elizabeth line services to Paddington station, which is only a 20-minute walk from the Carnival.
‘The Bakerloo, Circle, and Hammersmith & City lines, along with the Elizabeth line, provide step-free access, while the District line also services the station.’
Several stations near the Notting Hill Carnival route will either shut down or operate on limited schedules on those days.
The affected stations include:

- Ladbroke Grove – Closed
- Latimer Road – Closes at 11:30 pm and may experience temporary closures when crowds are high.
