Sheffield, August 9, 2024—A woman who was found dead in her Sheffield home earlier this week has been identified as 35-year-old Alicia Douglass. The incident occurred at a residence on Walling Close in the Wincobank area.
South Yorkshire Police responded to a welfare concern at the address on Wednesday, August 7. Upon arrival, officers discovered Alicia Douglass deceased inside the property. The circumstances surrounding her death led to the arrest of a 31-year-old man from Sheffield on suspicion of murder. The man has since been released on bail as investigations continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Oughton, the Senior Investigating Officer on the case, emphasized the urgency of the investigation. “Our enquiries into Alicia’s tragic death are continuing at pace,” DCI Oughton stated. “We are keen to hear from anyone with any information that could help our investigation into this incident.”
