Following the demise of a male inmate in prison, three individuals have been accused of the crime.
The East Midlands Ambulance Service declared the 31-year-old inmate deceased after being discovered unresponsive in his cell at HMP Fosse Way in Leicester on Tuesday.
Shaan Karim, aged 38, Thierry Robinson, aged 21, and Ashirie Smith, aged 18, are facing charges of murder.
Meanwhile, two men, aged 27 and 28, who were apprehended on suspicion of murder, have been released pending further investigation.
Prior to this, a 35-year-old man was also let go under investigation after being detained on suspicion of murder.
Karim, Robinson, and Smith have been detained and are scheduled to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court on Friday.

The Category C correctional facility, with an estimated 1,715 occupants, is a modern establishment opened last year, managed by Serco with the goal of decreasing re-offense rates.
HMP Fosse Way stands on the former grounds of HMP Glen Parva, which ceased operations in 2017.
This contemporary detention center is the second of its kind in the United Kingdom, focusing on the rehabilitation of offenders through education, training, and facilitating employment post-release, as stated on the Serco website.
A spokesperson from Serco stated: “We can confirm the passing of a 31-year-old man at Fosse Way prison.
“The incident is currently under investigation by Leicestershire Police.”
