Taylor Swift has shared her thoughts on the “heartbreaking” choice to call off her Vienna performances – and described her subsequent appearances in London as a “magnificent reverie”.
The American artist concluded the European segment of her Eras Tour at Wembley on Tuesday, portraying the reaction from the sold-out audiences as a “warm embrace”.
However, stepping onto the stage was a mix of emotions, occurring shortly after three shows in the Austrian city were abandoned due to an alleged terror plot.
“The rationale behind the cancellations evoked a new fear in me, along with an overwhelming sense of responsibility since many had made plans to attend those events,” she expressed in an Instagram post on Wednesday evening.
“Yet, I felt appreciative towards the authorities because as a result of their actions, we were facing canceled concerts and not casualties.”
She expressed feeling “encouraged” by the “affection and solidarity” her supporters exhibited in London across five performances this month.
She explained that all her efforts were dedicated to ensuring the safety of the nearly half a million individuals attending her London concerts, offering gratitude to the stadium staff and authorities for their assistance.
“Allow me to be explicit: I will refrain from addressing certain matters publicly if I believe doing so might incite individuals who aim to jeopardize the safety of my concert-goers.
“In circumstances such as this, maintaining ‘silence’ is actually exercising discretion and choosing the appropriate moment for self-expression.
“My main concern was completing our European tour securely, and I am immensely relieved to say that we achieved that.”

“Subsequently, London seemed like an enchanting sequence of events,” added Swift.
“The audiences at Wembley Stadium exuded passion, joy, and vitality in all five instances.
“The atmosphere in that venue felt akin to receiving a massive embrace from 92,000 individuals each night, transporting me back to a state of peaceful contentment on stage.”
Since her previous performance in the UK in June, the nation was shaken by the tragic stabbing of three young girls during a dance class themed around Swift in Southport.
Despite not addressing the dreadful incident while on stage in London, she issued a statement expressing her disbelief following the girls’ tragic deaths.
It is known that the singer has personally connected with the affected families.
