An unfortunate incident during the qualifying round of the Manx Grand Prix has claimed the life of a motorcyclist, as confirmed by event organizers.
The statement mentioned that Louis O’Regan passed away due to injuries sustained at the commencement of the 2024 event.
Louis O’Regan, a 43-year-old Irishman residing in Didcot, Oxfordshire, was described as a seasoned participant in the race, starting his journey at the Newcomers A Race back in 2013.
He achieved a personal best lap speed of 114.7mph during the 2019 Junior Race.
The organizers expressed deep sorrow and offered condolences to Louis’s partner Sarah, as well as his family, friends, and loved ones.
The tragic accident occurred at Kate’s Cottage, approximately 30 miles into the challenging 37-mile circuit around the Isle Of Man, on Sunday.
Following the incident, road closures were enforced to manage the aftermath.

The race is set to resume on Monday at 6.30 pm and will extend until the following Monday.
In a similar incident during the previous year’s event, Iain Bainbridge, aged 69, lost his life during the second qualifying session. The father-of-two from County Durham was also a well-known participant in the race, having debuted in 2005.
