A presumed Banksy creation has emerged in Walthamstow following the revelation of four other pieces earlier in the week.
The depiction of two pelicans feasting on fish was sighted atop the sign of Bonners Fish Bar in Walthamstow this morning.
Although not officially acknowledged by the street artist based in Bristol, on his website or Instagram account with close to 13 million followers, signs point to its authenticity.
There are indications that it might have been created with the use of a lift platform that bears a striking resemblance to one witnessed in the early hours of Monday at the location of Banksy’s initial artwork this week. All five pieces exhibit a consistent style.
An image of a goat was spotted perched on a pillar with rocks cascading down at Kew Green in Richmond on Monday.
Next, two elephants emerged on Edith Terrace, Chelsea, an area where property prices have soared to over £750,000 in the last year according to RightMove.
On Wednesday, a recurring theme seemed to arise, with three monkeys depicted as if in mid-swing over a London Overground bridge spanning Brick Lane.
However, this trend of increasing numbers was interrupted yesterday when a solitary wolf baying towards the sky materialized on a satellite dish on Rye Lane in Peckham.
The fourth piece was swiftly pilfered an hour after its emergence when three individuals utilized a ladder to ascend the roof and cart away the dish.
The public has been pondering the significance of these artworks all week as they have surfaced across London from west to east.
‘Banksy is gearing up for a grand unveiling or a major piece in the coming days’, Banksy expert Paul Gough revealed to Metro.
The professor and vice-chancellor at Arts University Bournemouth remarked: ‘What sets this apart is that Banksy typically allows some time to elapse, keeping people in suspense about the authenticity of his work.
‘However, this time around, he is affirming that it is indeed his creation right away, a deviation from what we have previously seen.
