Pet guardians are advised to remain watchful following suspected cat intoxications in Carmarthenshire.
Luna, a three-year-old cat, had to be euthanized by veterinarians after being poisoned the previous month.
The RSPCA has released an appeal following several other suspected poisonings in the Kidwelly vicinity.
The organization has mentioned that it is unclear whether the poisonings were intentional or accidental.
The recommendation provided for those who believe their cat might have been poisoned is to move the cat from the source and contact a veterinarian.
Luna, who was unable to move or walk, was brought back home by neighbors on July 29th.
“She seemed like she was intoxicated,” shared her owner, Ben McQueen.
“She displayed no interest in doing anything or consuming any food.”
Mr. McQueen expressed that the family was left “heartbroken”, and Luna’s demise had taken “a significant toll both financially and emotionally”.
“We are now anxious about our other cats and those in the neighborhood,” he added.
Mr. McQueen also mentioned being informed of two other cats recently poisoned in the area.

Andrew Harris, an animal rescue officer at the RSPCA, mentioned: “At present, it is uncertain whether these were inadvertent occurrences or intentional, but we urge the community to stay attentive and recognize the signs of poisoning.
“If you suspect your pet has been poisoned, promptly take them to a veterinarian.”
Symptoms of poisoning may encompass seizures, vomiting, lethargy, breathing difficulties, and an appearance of intoxication and lack of coordination.
